Why Should I Take This Course from Dr. D’Arienzo?
Don’t be fooled by course instructors who have online Ph.D’s from unaccredited institutions that never led to licensure to practice psychology or those without actual psychology firms who don’t practice psychology. Dr. D’Arienzo sees thousands of couples, is a board certified clinical psychologist and the only actual psychologist who provides online premarital courses. He is a doctor of psychology and psychologist, and not a counselor. He is the real deal! You deserve the best!
Dr. D’Arienzo is an Internationally Recognized Psychologist and Relationship Expert, Professor, Author, and Former Active Duty Navy Psychologist who uses psychological science to help couples. He offers no gimmicks about cracking any codes, and just shares how to use the last three decades of relationship science to have a successful relationship.
(Important: Certificates are automatically sent by email once course has been completed for all counties. However, 19 of the 67 FL counties require an inked signature and mailed certificate. Watch video or look below to see if you are marrying in one of those 19 counties. All other Florida counties accept the automated email certificate.)

How long does it take to get my certificate for the FL premarital course?
Once you complete our Florida premarital preparation course and submit the quiz electronically, you will receive an automatic certificate of completion in your email box. However, if you are in the following counties below, we will have to send you an actual paper certificate. We will be tracking who needs the paper certificate and will ensure that it is sent out to you within one business day.
If you plan to obtain your marriage license in one of the following FL counties, these counties require an original certificate of completion, which must be mailed to you. These counties include Alachua, Bradford, Desoto, Dixie, Flagler, Gulf, Hernando, Highlands, Leon, Levy, Monroe, Nassau, Okaloosa, Okeechobee, Pasco, Polk, Putnam, Seminole, and Taylor Counties. Please allow an additional business day or two to receive your certificate by mail.
We STRONGLY encourage that you do not wait until the last minute to complete the course if you are in one of the above counties. If you are in any other county in Florida not listed above, the automatic certificate that you will receive instantly in your inbox, will be all you need to save money on your marriage license and avoid the three day wait.
How long is the certificate of completion valid?
The certificate is valid for one year from the date it is issued.
How long does the Florida premarital course take?
Florida statutes require that you spend a minimum of four hours on the premarital course. Every premarital course offered anywhere in Florida will require the same four hour minimum. The course material should take approximately two hours to read through. The rest of the time should be spent completing the activities together.
Do I need an original certificate or an online certificate?
There are 19 out of 67 that are a little behind the times. If your Florida county is not on the list, then an electronic certificate, which we will email to you automatically, will be sufficient. If you see your county below on the list, then I suggest that you consider planning ahead for the certificate to arrive by snail mail (3-5 business days) or you get married in one of the other nearby counties in Florida that don’t require an inked and original certificate. Here is the list of the Florida counties that require an original certificate: Alachua, Bradford, Desota, Dixie, Flagler, Gulf, Hernando, Highlands, Leon, Levy, Monroe, Nassau, Okaloosa, Okeechobee, Pasco, Polk, Putnam, Seminole, and Taylor.
What if we finish the Florida premarital course in less than four hours?
The course is structured to take four hours to complete, including all of the activities and exercises. In the event you complete the course in less than four hours, please re-review the materials that were most significant to you and your relationship. Again, Florida Statutes requires that you spend four hours on the course – these are not our rules and all approved providers must adhere.
Does the Florida premarital course have to be completed in one sitting?
No. The course is self-paced so you can log in and log out at your convenience. There is no timer function on our website so just make sure to track your own time and spend the required hours working on the course materials.
Do we both have to work on the course online at the same time, or can we work on it separately at different times?
We understand that some couples live far away from one another or may have conflicting work/school schedules that make it difficult for both parties to sit down and work on the course together. You may take the course at your own pace (separately OR together). You only need to submit the final quiz once and should do so after you both have finished working on the course.
How do I know if you are an approved provider of this course in my county?
The counties listed on my website are the counties in which I am registered. If you are still unsure, you may call the Clerk of Court where you intend to obtain a marriage license to verify. I would be listed under “Dr. Justin D’Arienzo” or “D’Arienzo Psychological Group”. Please keep in mind that if you call the Clerk’s office and they cannot find me listed as an authorized provider, it is because the office is not looking it up correctly or not checking properly. I have verification from all of the counties that I received approval from in my office, so there will be no issues when you go to obtain your marriage license. Also of note, please do not rely on the Clerk of Courts website, as those websites are not updated regularly.
Is an online course accepted in Florida?
Yes, if it is done by an authorized provider and meets the requirements of the law.
My fiancé took the Keirsey Personality Test, but when I click on the link from the course it keeps bringing me back to the results of their test. How can I take the test too?
You have 2 options:
1.) When you click on the link from our course after someone has already completed the personality test, it will probably bring you to the test taker’s KTS-II History. On that page there is an option to “Retake the KTS-II” which is located right above the gray summary box. Clicking this option will allow the next person to take the test as well.
2.) Take the test using different internet browsers: If one person takes the test using Internet Explorer, the next can take the test using Chrome, Firefox, Safari or browser of choice. If using the same browser, go into browser settings and delete cookies after the first person takes their test. Click here to learn more about deleting cookies.
