Dr. Erica Janson, Clinical and Forensic Psychologist

Dr. Erica Janson graduated with a B.A. from Pace University and received her Psy.D. and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford.  She obtained specialized training in psychological assessment, child and adolescent psychotherapy, and trauma-based treatment. Dr. Janson has worked in a variety of settings, including: multi-disciplinary and court-based forensic psychological assessment programs, public and clinical day schools, home-based mental health, skilled nursing facilities, community mental health, intensive outpatient programs, long-term residential/inpatient programs, and private practice.  In addition she has extensive experience in collaboration with schools and community providers, the IEP process, working with families on parenting issues and behavioral modification, and crisis management. Her interests include child and adolescent assessment and treatment (taking pride in her ability to formulate useful, unique recommendations for her clients and their families), solution-focused/strength-based treatment, social skills training, play therapy, and art therapy.  In her free time, Dr. Janson enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, visiting the Connecticut shoreline, spending time outdoors, and decorating. Having a special needs son of her own, Dr. Janson understands first hand what challenges families face and how to advocate together for your child.

Dr. Janson is currently licensed in the state of Florida. She is a Florida licensed psychologist, and her license number is PY10704. She was previously licensed in the state of Connecticut. She is an independent contractor for D’Arienzo Psychology.
