Performance and Sports Psychology for Tennis

In September 2023, I had the pleasure of working with the Eagle Harbor Tennis Club to discuss psychological factors that improve peformance. We learned to live and play in the “eye of the storm”. Areas addressed were relaxation and arousal control, proper self-talk, effective visualization, goal setting, concentration and energy managment, ego detachment, improved performance with the great paradox, and finding your zone. The event was interactive. All participated in diaphragmatic breathing and acceptance commitment techniques. We also covered how the skills taught by sports psychologists were the same as the “big four” that SEAL candidates learn while in BUDS which are goal setting and segmenting, tactical visualziation, arousal control, and self-talk. All of the skills and techniques addressed are important on the court and off the court in your personal and professional life. A similar presentation is available for other sports teams and businesses. Call us if you are interested.
