Frequently Asked Questions
How do you take the MMPI?
The MMPI can be administered in person or via remote administration. The test is a 335 question true/false assessment that measures psychological health. Our office administers the MMPI in a virtual format, so once you complete the intake process, we send you the link to complete the MMPI. We typically administer the Minnesota Multiphasic Inventory-3 (MMPI-3) or Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 Restructure Form (MMPI-2RF).
Who can administer the MMPI?
Only licensed psychologists can administer this exam. This is because psychologists have the training and education required to understand psychopathology and test interpretation. The MMPI cannot be administered by masters level counselors and must be administered by a psychologist licensed to practice in Texas.
Does the PSP-13 form require only the MMPI?
A psychologist administering an MMPI is ethically bound to also interview you virtually or in-person. The information gathered from your intake form, your face-to-face interview is collateral information used to ensure your MMPI is valid.
For our process, you will complete an electronic intake form where you will give background information (e.g. about your childhood, legal history, medical issues, etc.), followed by a virtual interview with me using my HIPAA-compliant platform, followed by you completing an MMPI online. This allows me to validate your MMPI scores with our face-to-face meeting as well as your intake forms.
What is the cost?
I charge a flat rate of $300 for the entire process, including the intake, virtual interview, MMPI administration, scoring, and completion of the PSP-13 form.
This service is not covered by insurance; however, we do accept HSA cards if you have one.
How long does this process take?
I am able to offer same day appointments and a 24 hour turnaround time from when you complete your MMPI test to when you will have the PSP-13 form in hand. If you let us know that you need your MMPI expedited, we offer same day appointments and results at no additional charge. Just let us know you need it today!
